Honda City e:HEV: What’s on offer?
The price slash does not come with any hidden substitutions. The hybrid sedan remains completely unchanged. The honeycomb grille and the flanking LED headlamps are the biggest highlights of its front fascia. A shiny silver trim runs above the grille. The City Hybrid also rocks a faux diffuser on the rear bumper and a lip spoiler on the boot gate. The sedan rests on 16-inch alloy wheels. It gets the exclusive ‘e:HEV’ badging.
Inside, the Honda City e:HEV comes with all the instrumentation and features of the top-spec ZX variant of the sedan. It rocks an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker audio system, an electric sunroof, ambient lighting, and wireless charging. The Honda Connect app for the sedan is compatible with Amazon Echo and Google Assistant.Â
On the safety front, the Honda City e:HEV gets six airbags, ORVM-mounted lane-watch cameras, a multi-angle rear-view camera, ABS with EBD, ESC, EPB, TPMS, vehicle stability assist, traction control, hill-start assist, and ISOFIX-compatible rear row seats. The ADAS package on the sedan consists of features like adaptive cruise control, lane assist and autonomous emergency braking.
Under the hood, the Honda City e:HEV is powered by a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, petrol engine linked to a traction motor. The latter is connected to a lithium-ion battery. This setup produces a combined power output of 126hp and 253Nm of torque. It is mated to an eCVT gearbox. The hybrid sedan offers a fuel efficiency of 27.26km/l. In comparison, the petrol variants deliver a mileage of 18.4km/l. The 1.5L petrol engine alone puts out 98hp and 127Nm.
