Nissan X-Trail: What’s on offer?

The India-spec Nissan X-Trail gets a V-Motion grille up front. This grille is finished in dark chrome. On either side of the grille lie the split LED headlamps and DRLs. The front fascia of the SUV is highlighted by its upright nose. The wraparound LEDs at the back of the vehicle mimic the design of the LED headlamps and DRLs. Along the sides, the X-Trail gets diamond-cut 20-inch alloy wheels and rounded wheel arches with plastic cladding. There will be three colour options on offer – Champagne Silver, Pearl White, and Diamond Black.

Inside, the Nissan X-Trail is packed with features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital driver’s display, a push-start button, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, paddle shifters, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. The India-spec version of the SUV will have a 3-row layout. The second row will have 40/20/40 split-folding, sliding, and reclining functions. Meanwhile, the third row will have 50/50 split-folding and reclining functions.

The Nissan X-Trail is powered by a 1.5-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine. This engine is linked to a 12V mild-hybrid setup. The X-Trail produces a combined engine output of 163hp and 300Nm. This engine system is paired with a CVT gearbox.

Conclusion

Currently, Nissan’s portfolio in India consists of only one car – Nissan Magnite. The launch of the X-Trail will add a premium SUV offering to the list. Prices for the SUV are expected to start at Rs 40-42 lakh. The top-spec variant may fetch between Rs 46-47 lakh. Upon launch, the Nissan X-Trail will rival Skoda Kodiaq, MG Gloster, Toyota Fortuner, and Jeep Meridian.
