Nissan Micra EV: What’s on offer?
The Nissan Micra EV is under 4 metres long and 1.8 metres wide, with a 2.54-metre wheelbase. Its front fascia features rectangular LED headlamps, circular LED DRLs, and a shut-off grille. The electric hatchback gets black body cladding and a blacked-out roof. It rests on 18-inch alloy wheels. The door handles are mounted on the columns. At the back, the LED taillamps replicate the circular design of the DRLs. The overall styling of the EV is very SUV-like.
Inside, the Nissan Micra EV packs twin 10.1-inch displays for the digital instrument cluster and the touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console is slightly tilted towards the driver. The interior has a dual-tone colour theme, and the buyers get to choose from three distinct trims for the seat upholstery. Other features include an electronic parking brake, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.
The Nissan Micra EV will be made available in 2 battery pack options – 40kWh and 52kWh. The 40kWh variants produce a maximum power output of 122hp and 225Nm of torque. The battery pack offers a driving range of 308km. Meanwhile, the 52kWh variants put out 150hp and 245Nm, with the battery pack going up to 408km on a full charge.
Giovanny Arroba, Vice President, Nissan Design Europe, said, “In designing the sixth generation of the MICRA, we’ve celebrated all the values that have historically made it so popular – and opened a new chapter for MICRA as an EV. The exterior has an audacious and playful appearance on first look but has a stance which gives it a solid presence on the road. We’ve also been able to integrate delightful details into the design, which owners will love. We’re proud to have been able to bring the MICRA into the EV age.”
