MG Gloster Blackstorm edition: Everything you need to know

The fresh Blackstorm edition of MG Gloster brings the all-black theme to the SUV. Automakers like Tata Motors, Volkswagen, and Maruti Suzuki have previously come out with special all-black editions for their SUVs to give a boost to sales. The MG Gloster Blackstorm edition gets two colour options – Metal Black and Metal Ash.

The all-black theme is enhanced by the roof rail, smoked black tail light, window surround, fender, and fog garnish. The interior gets the blacked-out treatment as well. Complementing the dark looks are red highlights and accents on the steering wheel, headlamps, callipers, and front and rear bumper. The dark theme leatherette upholstery gets rid stitching on it as well.

The instrumentation and features on the MG Gloster Blackstorm edition remain the same. The SUV offers 30 safety features as a part of its ADAS package. These features include Adaptive Cruise Control, Automatic Emergency Braking, Automatic Parking Assist, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, and more.

Things remain the same under the hood as well. The 2.0-litre diesel engine is offered in a ‘turbo’ and ‘twin turbo’ spec. The turbo engine can produce a maximum power of 161bhp and 375Nm peak torque, while the twin-turbo engine can generate a maximum power of 215bhp and 380Nm peak torque. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There are seven different 4×4 driving modes on offer – Snow, Sand, Mud, Rock, Sport, Eco, and Auto.

Commenting on the launch, Gaurav Gupta, Deputy Managing Director, MG Motor India said, “The MG Gloster represents a timeless symbol of comfort, luxury, and modern technology. Taking this legacy, a step further, the Advanced Gloster BLACKSTORM exudes even more confidence and determined sportiness. With its exceptional features, commanding road presence, impressive performance, state-of-the-art technology, and luxurious interiors, it stands out from the crowd.

The Advanced Gloster BLACKSTORM is poised to generate a healthy level of enthusiasm among SUV enthusiasts, delivering an unforgettable driving experience. I have every confidence that the Metal Black and Metal Ash colour options will establish a unique identity for The Advanced Gloster BLACKSTORM, exceeding the expectations of discerning premium SUV owners who desire exceptional features and a dynamic blend of ruggedness and luxury.”
