The recent rise in CNG sales in India can be credited to the rising fuel prices and lack of diesel cars due to the stringent emission norms. As a result, a lot of automakers are offering their best-selling cars with a factory-fitted CNG kit. Maruti Suzuki has been the quickest to jump on the CNG bandwagon, with Tata Motors close behind. By 2020, Maruti Suzuki is hoping to achieve 60% of its sales from CNG, biogas, and flex fuel-powered cars.
