Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the next-gen Dzire in India on November 11. The compact sedan has received a highly impressive 5-star rating from Global NCAP. Maruti Suzuki Dzire is now one of the few sedans in its segment to flaunt a 5-star safety rating. It is the first Maruti car to get this rating from GNCAP. The sedan was put through a series of crash tests and was tested under rigid guidelines. The model tested by the GNCAP had six airbags, 3-point seatbelts, ESC, ISOFIX anchorages, seat belt pretensioners, and load limiters.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Crash Test Results Explained
Maruti Suzuki Dzire scored 31.24 points out of a possible 34 in the Adult Occupant Protection test. The sedan offered good protection to the driver’s and passenger’s head and neck. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection while the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. The knees of both occupants showed good protection while their tibias showed adequate protection.
Upon side impact, the head, chest, abdomen, and pelvis showed good protection. The side pole impact revealed good protection to the head, abdomen, and pelvis but marginal protection to the chest.
In the Child Occupant Protection test, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire scored 39.20 points out of a possible 42. The child seat for the 3-year-old was installed front-facing using ISOFIX anchorages. It was able to prevent excessive forward movement during the frontal impact, offering full protection to the head and chest. However, it offered limited protection to the neck. The child seat for the 18-month-old was installed rear-facing using ISOFIX anchorages and a support leg. It was able to prevent head exposure during frontal impact.
David Ward, Executive President of the Towards Zero Foundation said, “The new Dzire’s five star rating sets a significant safety benchmark for Maruti Suzuki compared to the previous version of this model and others from Maruti we have tested. Global NCAP warmly welcomes this milestone voluntary test result.
