Lamborghini Urus S to launch in India on April 13

Lamborghini will be adding another offering to its Urus lineup in India with the launch of the Lamborghini Urus S on April 13. Urus S will sit below Urus Performante which was launched in November last year at Rs 4.22 crore. The Urus was first unveiled as a concept in 2012 at the Beijing Auto Show. Since its launch in 2018, the luxury SUV has sold over 20,000 units.

Lamborghini Urus S: Another addition to the Urus family

In terms of design, the Lamborghini Urus S maintains the signature look of the Performante, with a few unique changes. The front and rear bumpers of the Urus S have been redesigned and the bonnet gets a single-tone colour theme instead of the dual-tone pattern found on the Performante.

The interior design layout remains the same as well, but buyers will get to have more personalisation options regarding the materials used. Lamborghini’s Ad Personam program allows customers to decide on the colour theme and even finer details like the type of stitching employed on the upholstery.

Under the hood, the Lamborghini Urus S retains the same engine as the Performante. The 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine produces a maximum power output of 666hp, which is 16hp more than its predecessor. It also offers a peak torque of 850Nm. The Urus S can go from 0-100 Kmph in just 3.3 seconds and can reach a top speed of 303 kmph. Unlike, the Performante, Urus S gets an air suspension instead of the fixed coil springs.

The Performante missed out on certain drive modes due to its fixed coil spring setup. The Lamborghini Urus S does not have to make the same compromise and gets all the off-road modes – Savia (Sand), Neve (Snow), and Terra (Mud). On top of that, it also gets the Strada (Street), Sport, and Corsa (track) modes.

Conclusion

The Lamborghini Urus S will be slightly less expensive than the Performante. Upon launch, the luxury SUV will rival the likes of Audi RSQ8, Aston Martin DX 707, Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, Maserati Levante Trofeo, and Ferrari Purosangue.
