Kia Seltos gets new variants, prices start at Rs 11.13 lakh

Kia India has rejigged the lineup of the Seltos SUV. Kia Seltos now gets 8 new variants, with prices starting at Rs 11.13 lakh. The SUV now comes in 24 variants and 3 powertrain options. The 8 new variants are a part of the HTE (O), HTK (O), and HTK+ (O) trim levels. The most affordable panoramic sunroof variant is priced at Rs 12.99 lakh. The top-spec X-Line variant fetches Rs 20.51 lakh.

The HTE (O) trim is the new entry-level trim in Kia Seltos’ lineup. It is available with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel powertrains. It gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 6-speaker sound system, and illuminated power windows. However, it is not available with an automatic transmission. Meanwhile, the new HTK (O) trim sits above HTE (O) and HTK. It gets a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, a smart key with motion detection, a mood lamp, and other features. This trim is also available with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel powertrains linked to a manual transmission.

Finally, the HTK+ (O) trim is the newest upper-spec trim added to Kia Seltos’ lineup. It is available with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engine options with manual and automatic transmissions. It has features like 17-inch alloys, LED fog lamps, sequential LED indicators in headlights, an electronic handbrake, a parcel tray, and more.

Kia Seltos is available in three powertrain options – 1.5-litre NA petrol, 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and 1.5-litre diesel. The 1.5-litre naturally petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine puts out 160hp. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 116hp and 250Nm of torque.

Conclusion

Kia Seltos is one of the most versatile midsize SUVs in India. It remains to be seen whether similar trims will be added to the Sonet lineup as well. The Seltos rivals the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder in India.
