The Kia Seltos test mule that was recently spotted in South Korea was draped in heavy camouflage. The cutouts for LED headlamps and tail lamps reveal certain design changes but the dimensions and profile of the SUV are similar to the outgoing model. The headlamp design appears to be unique and quite unlike other Kia SUVs currently on the market. It is integrated with LED DRLs. The rectangular grille consists of vertical slats. The tail lamp design seems inspired by the Kia EV5.

Apart from the exterior look, not much is known about the upcoming Kia Seltos. The spy shots do not reveal the interior layout of the SUV and the automaker has kept a tight lid on its instrumentation and features so far. The current-gen Seltos features a 10.25-inch twin-screen infotainment system with Android Auto/Apple CarPlay support and a digital driver display. Its ADAS package consists of 17 safety features.

The powertrain details of the next-gen Seltos remain unknown for now, but we expect to stick with multiple engine options. Kia may also introduce a petrol-hybrid engine to the lineup. The current-gen Kia Seltos is available in 1.5L petrol and 1.5L turbo-diesel engine options. The 1.4L turbo-petrol was discontinued due to its failure to meet the new BS6 Phase II norms. The 1.5-litre petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine puts out 116hp and 250Nm. The petrol can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. The diesel engine gets the option of a 6-speed iMT or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
