Kia Carnival facelift spotted testing in South Korea, India launch next year

India-bound Kia Carnival has been spotted testing on Korean roads. The MPV was taken off the Indian market earlier this year. Kia plans on re-launching the Carnival facelift in the country next year. The global reveal of the new Carnival facelift is set to take place in the coming weeks. The test module that was spotted in South Korea was completely undisguised, providing a good look at what’s about to be on offer.

2024 Kia Carnival facelift: What to expect?

The Kia Carnival facelift’s front fascia gets some major design changes that may propel its popularity in India. The MPV gets a wide grille that is flanked with L-shaped LED headlamps on either end. There are significant chrome highlights on the new grille. The headlamps are bordered by LED DRLs that make their way to the top of the grille.

At the back, the tailgate gets a stubby, flat posture. The L-shaped design of the tail lamps is consistent with the headlamps up front. The tail lamps are connected by an LED light bar that runs across the tailgate. The rear bumper gets a chrome finish on some parts. The Carnival facelift also gets a new alloy wheel design, which looks similar to the one on the automaker’s EV lineup.

The Kia Carnival facelift is expected to be decked with the latest features. This will certainly help its case among Indian buyers. The top-spec variants will get a dual sunroof. The MPV will have multiple seating options. The seat design is inspired by the Kia EV9. There will be a touchscreen infotainment system onboard but it remains to be seen whether it will be fused together with the digital instrument cluster to form a twin display.

Conclusion

So far, Kia has kept a tight light on the powertrain details for the Carnival facelift. There may be a hybrid powertrain on offer. Prices for the Kia Carnival facelift are expected to start at Rs 35 lakh. The MPV will rival Toyota Innova HyCross and Toyota Vellfire.
