Kia India is set to launch the Carnival facelift in September 2024. The MPV was discontinued in India last year due to its failure to comply with the latest emission norms. The facelifted model of the Kia Carnival was revealed globally in October 2023. Since then, the MPV has been spotted testing in India on multiple occasions.

Kia Carnival facelift: What to expect?
The exterior design of the Kia Carnival facelift is radically different from its outgoing version. Up front, the MPV features L-shaped LED headlamps with integrated DRLs. The 2024 Carnival’s grille is wider than its outgoing counterpart and gets chrome inserts. The alloy wheels also get a new design. The tail lamps mimic the design of the headlamps. Connecting the two tail lamps is a sleek LED light bar.
The curved display inside the 2024 Kia Carnival consists of two 12.3-inch units – a touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument cluster. This fused display extends to the centre of the dashboard and is a part of the centre console. Buyers can also opt for a 14.6-inch entertainment screen for the rear seats. Other features include a digital rearview mirror, dashboard cameras with front and rear lenses, a rotary drive selector, a heads-up display, and more.
The Kia Carnival facelift is available in two powertrain options. Powering the entry-level LX trim is a 3.5-litre V6 GDI petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 287hp and 352Nm of torque. This engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The top-spec variants of the MPV are powered by a 1.5-litre turbo hybrid engine that produces a maximum power output of 242hp and 367Nm of torque. This engine is linked to a 54kWh battery and a six-speed automatic transmission.Â

Conclusion
In the USA, prices for the Kia Carnival prices start at USD 36,500 (~ Rs 30.45 lakh) and go up to USD 50,600 (Rs 42.22 lakh). Before the MPV was discontinued in India last year, it was priced between Rs 25.48 lakh – Rs 35.48 lakh. The facelift will rightfully demand a significant premium. While it has no direct rivals in India, the Kia Carnival will lock horns with other MPVs like Toyota Innova and Vellfire.
