Kia India has launched the CNG version of the Carens at Rs 11.76 lakh. It is based on the Premium (O) trim. The CNG kit will be a dealer-level fitment on the Kia Carens, demanding a premium of Rs 77,900. The petrol version of the Premium (O) trim costs Rs 10.99 lakh. The CNG kit is supplied by Lovato Gas India.

Kia Carens CNG: Everything you need to know
Kia Carens CNG is powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine. In a petrol configuration, it generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 144Nm of torque. The automaker has not revealed the output specs of this engine in a CNG guise. The mileage remains unknown, too. The MPV is also available with a 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. The diesel engine produces a maximum power output of 116hp and 250Nm, while the turbo petrol engine puts out 160hp and 253Nm.
Since it is based on the Premium (O) variant, the Kia Carens CNG packs an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. It also gets semi-leatherette upholstery, electric OVRMs, roof-mounted AC vents for the 2nd and 3rd row, one-touch electric tumble for 2nd-row seats, a shark-finn antenna, a rearview camera, and more.Â
On the safety front, the Kia Carens CNG gets 6 airbags, ABC with EBD, Vehicle Stability Management (VSM), Brake Assist (BA), traction control, downhill brake control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), ISOFIX anchorages, disc brakes for all 4 wheels, rear parking sensors, and more. The MPV was awarded a 3-star safety rating by Global NCAP after undergoing their crash tests in April 2024.
The newly-launched Carens Clavis serves as the more premium version of the 7-seat MPV. Apart from the three ICE powertrains, the Clavis also comes in an all-electric version. There are 2 battery pack options on offer – 42kWh (404km range, ARAI) and 51.4kWh (490km range, ARAI). The electric motor is mounted on the front axle and produces a maximum power output of 135hp on the 42kWh variants and 171hp on the 51.4kWh variants. The torque remains consistent on all variants – 255Nm.

Final Thoughts
The standard Kia Carens range starts at Rs 10.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 12.77 lakh. Meanwhile, the Carens Clavis is priced between Rs 11.08 lakh and Rs 20.71 lakh. The MPV rivals Maruti Suzuki XL6, Toyota Rumion, and Maruti Suzuki Ertiga.
