Jeep Grand Cherokee Signature Edition launched in India at Rs 69.04 lakh

The Jeep Grand Cherokee has received a new ‘Signature’ Edition. The special edition SUV is priced at Rs 69.04 lakh. It is based on the top-spec Limited (O) variant and demands a premium of Rs 1.54 lakh. It justifies the premium price with new and exclusive features. The special edition SUV is now available at all Jeep dealerships in India.

Jeep Grand Cherokee Signature Edition: What’s new?

The Signature Edition adds some premium features to the top-spec Limited (O) variant of the Jeep Grand Cherokee. The special edition SUV gets motorised side steps to facilitate seamless access for all passengers. There are 2 11.6-inch Android-based entertainment displays for rear seat passengers. These displays feature HD IPS panels, Cortex A55 2.0GHz processors, and built-in speakers. There’s support for WiFi, Bluetooth, and AUX, along with dual-screen control. Additionally, the Signature Edition gets integrated front and rear dashcams.

Other features of the SUV include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system a digital instrument cluster, and another 10.1-inch touchscreen display for the front passenger. It also gets a 19-speaker sound system, a headrest-mounted entertainment screen for rear passengers, premium upholstery, a panoramic sunroof, and ADAS tech.

Things remain the same under the hood as the Jeep Grand Cherokee Signature Edition continues to be powered by the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 272hp and 400Nm of torque. It comes mated to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. There are four terrain modes on offer – Auto, Sport, Mud, and Snow. Grand Cherokee is not offered in a diesel powertrain in India.

Final Thoughts

The regular Jeep Grand Cherokee model is priced at Rs 67.50 lakh in India. It rivals other premium SUVs like the Volvo XC90Land Rover DiscoveryMercedes-Benz GLEAudi Q7, and BMW X5.. The automaker recently unveiled the next-gen Grand Cherokee globally. Its design and powertrain have been updated. The new model will come with a hybrid powertrain. It remains to be seen when the SUV will be launched in India.
