Hyundai Ioniq 5 N TA: What’s new?

The new Hyundai Ioniq 5 N TA pumps out a higher output through software tuning, without fundamentally altering the car. The EV produces a maximum power output of 687hp. This was implemented by increasing the output of the rear motor by 37hp. Braking duties are handled by six-piston racing callipers up front and four-piston racing callipers at the back.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N TA is equipped with an 84kWh battery. It supports an 800V/400V multi-charging system with a maximum charging speed of 350W. Under optimal conditions, the battery pack can go from a 10% charge to 80% in just 18 minutes.

Hyundai Ioniq 5 N Time Attack utilises N Active Sound+ with modified speakers (over 120 dB) to both enhance feedback for the driver and replace sirens typical of electric Pikes Peak race cars. New shock absorbers, motorsport-spec brakes, 18-inch Yokohama ADVAN 005 slick tyres, and a unique high-downforce aerodynamic package have been specially applied to the EV to adapt it for Pikes Peak.

Hyundai Ioniq 5

The regular, production-spec Hyundai Ioniq 5 which is sold in India is equipped with a 72.6kWh battery pack and offers a driving range of up to 631km. The electric motor powering the EV produces a maximum power output of 217hp and 350Nm peak torque. There is no AWD option on offer. Like the Ioniq 5 N TA, the regular Ioniq 5 also supports 800V superfast charging, which can replenish the battery from 10 to 80% in just under 20 minutes.

However, it will not make it to mass production. Hyundai has also announced its collaboration with sim-racing franchise Gran Turismo. This will include various sim-racing activities, including Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPIHC) participation
