2023 Hyundai i20 facelift: What we know so far
As mentioned earlier, the new Hyundai i20 facelift has been spotted on Korean roads on multiple occasions. When the hatchback was spotted in December 2022, it was heavily camouflaged. But, there were certain features that stood out prominently. The front grille, which was partially uncovered, seems to have undergone a slight redesign. The bumper and LED headlamps may also receive a few design tweaks.
There are no significant changes along the sides. The frame of the hatchback remains intact. Higher variants of the i20 facelift may get a new set of alloy wheels. The test mule had plastic wheel covers which means it was an entry-level variant. The rear end of the vehicle was under heavy camouflage and not much could be made out. Hyundai may tweak the tail lamp design a bit and even introduce a light bar similar to the one on Venue and Exter.
No snapshots of the interior of the Hyundai i20 facelift have surfaced yet. The hatchback is expected to retain the interior layout. The touchscreen infotainment system is also expected to remain the same. It may get some new dashboard highlights along with a new colour theme. Hyundai may also add new USB ports along with connected car tech.
The Hyundai i20 facelift will offer two petrol engine options. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine can produce a maximum power output of 120hp while the 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine can put out 83hp. No changes will be made to the gearbox. No diesel engine options are expected on the facelift.
