2024 Hyundai Creta buyers face waiting periods of up to 5 months

One of the bestselling SUVs in India over the last few years, the Hyundai Creta was never going to disappoint with its 2024 facelift model. Launched on January 16, the facelifted model of the SUV brings some significant changes to the cosmetics, features, and powertrain. Bookings for the Creta facelift were opened at the start of the month. Buyers now face a maximum waiting period of up to 5 months on the top-spec variants.

Hyundai Creta facelift: An instant success

The 2024 Hyundai Creta is available in seven trims and five powertrain options. Prices for the SUV start at Rs 11 lakh (E 1.5L MT) and go up to Rs 20 lakh for the top-spec variants (SX(O) 1.5L Turbo Petrol & Diesel). The 1.5-litre diesel engine variant in the SX(O) has the longest waiting period of 4-5 months. The 1.5-litre Turbo Petrol engine available in this trim is also very popular among buyers. The mid-spec S trim which is available with the 1.5-litre petrol and diesel manual variants has received the least number of bookings so far.

The 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines on the Hyundai Creta facelift produce a maximum power output of 115hp. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine replaces the 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit. This engine produces a maximum power output of 160hp. All three engines are available with manual and automatic gearbox options. The turbo petrol engine gets a 7-speed DCT gearbox, while the 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines get a 6-speed CVT gearbox.

The biggest upgrade on the new Hyundai Creta is the Level ADAS package. This package contains 19 safety features. These features include Forward Collison Warning & Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Blind Spot Collison Warning & Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and more. Other non-safety features on the SUV include a dual-zone climate control system, an air purifier, a Bose sound system, a 360-degree camera, an electronic parking brake, USB Type-C ports for the rear passengers, and more.

Conclusion

There are seven colour options on offer for the Hyundai Creta. The Abyss Black colour variant is the most popular among the buyers. Hyundai is also working on an all-electric Creta. The SUV was recently spotted testing on Indian roads. Meanwhile, the ICE Creta rivals the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Citroen C3 Aircross, and Skoda Kushaq.
