Hyundai Creta: The journey so far

Launched in July 2015, it took Hyundai Creta 5 years to sell 5 lakh units. The next 5 lakh sales took just 3 years and 5 months. The last 1 lakh units of the SUV were sold in just 8 months. Hyundai claims that a Creta is sold in India every 5 minutes. Currently, the Creta averages 436 units sold per day.

Commenting on the milestone, Mr Tarun Garg, COO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “Hyundai CRETA has been a brand that has captured the hearts of Indian customers and made India ‘Live the SUV life’. With over 1 million CRETA on Indian roads, the ‘CRETA’ brand has reaffirmed its legacy of being the Undisputed SUV. The recently launched new Hyundai CRETA too has received an overwhelming customer response and crossed 60 000 bookings since announcement.

We are extremely grateful for the love and trust our customers have shown for CRETA. As frontrunners in the introduction of revolutionary technologies, we shall continue to establish new milestones and redefine benchmarks across segments in the industry.”

The 2024 Hyundai Creta facelift features a bold new design. Up front, it gets a wider grille than the outgoing model. A sleek LED light bar runs across this grille. The LED light bar merges into L-shaped fragmented LED DRLs. The LED headlamps are housed in the bumper. The profile of the SUV remains unchanged. At the back, the LED tail lamps follow the design language of the DRLs at the front.

Hyundai Creta is one of the most feature-laden midsize SUVs in India. It gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and another 10.25-inch display for the digital instrument cluster. The facelifted model also sports a Level 2 ADAS package with features like Forward Collison Warning & Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot View Monitor, Blind Spot Collison Warning & Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Driver Attention Warning, and more.

There are 3 powertrain options available with the Hyundai Creta – the 115hp producing 1.5-litre diesel and petrol engines & a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 160hp. All three engines can be mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox or a 7-speed DCT.
