Hyundai Aura facelift launched at Rs 6.29 lakh, gets new safety features

After releasing a facelift for the Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai has launched the new Hyundai Aura facelift at a starting price of Rs 6.29 lakh. The top-spec SX+ AMT trim fetches Rs 8.73 lakh. 2 CNG models have also been made available for the S and SX trims, priced at Rs 8.10 lakh and Rs 8.87 lakh respectively.

Hyundai Aura facelift: What’s on offer?

The new Hyundai Aura facelift comes with a bunch of cosmetic and feature upgrades. First off, the sedan gets a wider stance up front, with the help of a newly designed bumper and a segmented grille. The inverted L-shaped LED DRLs have been housed on either end of the bumper. There are no fog lamps on the new Aura. The side and rear profiles have been retained from the outgoing model.

The general layout of the inside cabin remains the same but the seat upholstery has been given a new pattern. The steering and gear knob are now wrapped in leather, which further amps up the premium feel of the interior. The instrument cluster has also been updated and there new highlights across the centre console and door handles. 

The biggest upgrade on the new Hyundai Aura facelift is the inclusion of new safety features like four airbags (standard across all variants), Electronic Stability Control, Hill Assist, Vehicle Stability Management System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and a burglar alarm. In other updates, the charging ports have been upgraded to accommodate Type-C charging.

Things remain the same under the hood, as the new Hyundai Aura facelift continues to be powered by the 1.2-litre petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 83hp and 114Nm peak torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. In a CNG configuration, this engine puts out 69hp and 95Nm. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine has been discontinued.

Conclusion

Bookings for the new Hyundai Aura facelift are already underway at a token amount of Rs 11,000. There are five trims on offer, along with a new ‘Starry Night’ paint scheme. The 2023 Hyundai Aura facelift rivals the likes of Tata Tigor, Honda Amaze, and Maruti Suzuki Swift Dzire.
