Honda Elevate to launch in India on September 4

Honda Elevate is set to launch in India next month. Honda will reveal prices for the Elevate on September 4. The midsize SUV went into production last month. The automaker has started shipping showcase units of the Elevate to its dealerships, where buyers can take it out on test drives. The SUV can be booked for a token amount of Rs 21,000

Honda Elevate: Shaking up the midsize SUV segment

Honda Elevate stands at dimensions of 4,312mm x 1,790mm x 1,650mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,650mm and clears the ground at 220mm. Up front, the Elevate gets a wide radiator grille and a flat, muscular nose. Flanking the grille are the LED headlamps and DRLs that are connected by a chrome bar. The tail lamps at the rear are also connected by a light bar.

Honda will launch four trims for the Elevate – SV, V, ZX, and VX. The base trim gets dual airbags, automatic AC, a push start/stop button, beige upholstery, and 16-inch steel wheels. The top-spec ZX trim gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a single-pane sunroof, an 8-speaker surround sound system, a Honda Sensing ADAS package, and more.

Under the hood, Honda Elevate gets a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces a maximum power output of 121hp and 145Nm of torque. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. This is the same engine that does duty on Honda City. Manual variants of Honda Elevate offer a fuel efficiency of 15.31kmpl while the CVT variants put up a mileage of 16.92kmpl.

Conclusion

Honda will reveal the prices for the Elevate on September 4. We expect the SUV to be priced at around Rs 12 lakh. Upon launch, Honda Elevate will rival Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, Kia Seltos, Citroen C3 Aircross, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, and Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara.
