Citroen C3 Aircross Automatic makes its debut in Indonesia

India-made Citroen C3 Aircross midsize SUV made its debut in Indonesia this week. The Indonesia-spec C3 Aircross matches the specifications of its Indian counterpart but comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. In India, the Citroen C3 Aircross will be made available in a single trim with a manual transmission. An automatic variant is expected to be added down the line.

The Indonesia-spec Citroen C3 Aircross retains the engine from its Indian counterpart. The 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 205Nm of torque on the Indonesian variant. The Indian C3 Aircross produces 190Nm of torque and is available in a manual variant. The manual C3 Aircross offers a fuel efficiency of 18.5kmpl. The automatic variant has a mileage of 17.5kmpl.

The midsize SUV lacks paddle shifters and comes with a traditional gear lever in its automatic transmission avatar. It does not get a manual variant in Indonesia. In India, the eC3 and C5 Aircross get toggle drive selectors instead of the conventional gear lever.

Citroen C3 Aircross is underpinned by the same CMP modular platform as the C3 hatchback. It stands at dimensions of 4,323mm x 1,796mm x 1,669mm with a wheelbase of 2,671mm. The SUV will come in five and seven-seat configurations. The 5-seater C3 Aircross offers a boot space capacity of 511 litres.

Talking about the features, the Citroen C3 Aircross gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, steering-mounted controls, roof-mounted AC vents, keyless entry, and more. Safety features include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, TPMS, Hill hold assist, and more.

Conclusion

Bookings for the Citroen C3 Aircross will begin next month in India. The automaker will add an automatic and an electric variant to the SUV’s lineup in the future. Upon launch, Citroen C3 Aircross will rival Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser HyRyder, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, and Skoda Kushaq.
