Honda Car India has dropped the first teaser for the City facelift. The refreshed version of the Honda City will go on sale on May 22. The sedan has been spotted completely undisguised on multiple occasions this month. More recently, it was snapped in Black and White avatars. The latter was present at a dealership yard. The facelift model comes with fresh cosmetic updates, but remains unchanged under the hood.

Honda City facelift: Everything we know so far
The official teaser for the City facelift dropped by Honda Car India shows the sedan under a black cover. The LED DRLs can be seen through the cover. Other details about the sedan remain hidden. However, more recent spy shots confirm a completely new design for the front fascia. This includes a new mesh grille, which is flanked by sleek LED headlamps. These headlamps are integrated with eyebrow DRLs. The DRLs are connected by an LED light bar running across the width of the fascia. The new Honda logo is placed above the grille. The redesigned bumper houses triangular air inlets on either side and a big air dam in the middle.
No big changes have been made to the sedan’s profile. The 16-inch alloy wheels appear to have a new design and an all-black look. The higher-spec variants may be made available with larger wheels. At the back, the facelift model flaunts a smoky effect on its LED tail lamps. The bumper has been reworked, too. It has triangular elements to match the aesthetic of the front bumper.Â
Honda has not revealed any details about the interior of the City facelift, but the spy shots confirm a slew of updates. For starters, it gets a larger free-standing infotainment system than the current model. The latter uses 8-inch displays for the infotainment system and digital instrument cluster. The facelift model also gets ventilated seats, a single-zone automatic climate control system, a 360-degree camera, and wireless charging. More features will be confirmed as we get closer to launch.
No changes have been made to the Honda City facelift’s powertrain. The sedan sticks with 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated, 4-cylinder, iVTEC petrol engine. This engine generates a maximum power output of 121hp and 145Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 6-speed manual or CVT gearbox. The former offers a mileage of 17.8km/l, while the latter offers 18.4km/l, When paired with a strong hybrid setup on the City e:HEV, it puts out 126hp. The hybrid model is linked to an eCVT gearbox. Its fuel economy comes out to 27.13km/l.

Final Thoughts
Prices for the current Honda City range start at Rs 12 lakh and go up to Rs 16.07 lakh. The facelift model will demand a small premium. Honda will start accepting bookings later this week. Upon launch, the facelifted version of the City will continue to rival the Hyundai Verna, Volkswagen Virtus, Skoda Slavia, and Maruti Suzuki Ciaz in India.
