Citroen eC3 Shine: What’s new?

The addition of the top-spec Shine variant to the Citroen eC3 lineup brings new features like 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, a rear parking camera, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and front & rear faux skid plates. The top-spec variant carries forward features like the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, a four-speaker sound system, a height-adjustable driver’s seat and more. The infotainment system is also compatible with the MyCitroen Connect app which offers a host of features like displaying the charging status and locating nearby charging stations.

The single electric motor powering the Citroen eC3 can produce a peak power output of 57hp and 143Nm torque. In comparison, its ICE sibling produces 110hp and 190Nm. Its direct rival, Tata Tiago EV produces a maximum power of 74hp (55 kW) and 114Nm peak torque.

The electric hatchback is available in a single battery pack variant with a capacity of 29.2 kWh. This battery pack is sourced from China and can deliver a driving range of 320km. The 3.3kW home charger can replenish the battery pack in just under 11 hours.  There is also an option of DC fast charging, using which the EV can be charged from 10-80% in under an hour. In comparison, Tata Tiago EV is available in two battery pack options: 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh. The former offers a driving range of 250km while the latter offers 315km.

The design of the Citroen eC3 is identical to its ICE sibling. The EV ditches the exhaust pipe and gets a charging port along the exterior. The interior remains largely unchanged, except for the drive selector which finds its place in the EV. The ICE model and EV are manufactured at the same facility in India.

It is a direct rival to the Tata Tiago EV, which is the most affordable EV in India. When you take the pricing into consideration, the eC3 also rivals the Tigor EV.
