Citroen C3X: What do the spy shots suggest?
Underpinning the Citroen C3X is the automaker’s Common Modular Platform (CMP) which is also found on other Citroen cars like C3, eC3, and C3 Aircross. As was the case with eC3, the C3X will borrow certain elements from the C3 hatchback and C3 Aircross to reduce production costs. This includes the front look of the car and the first two doors.
Talking about the design, the C3X will feature triangular headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. A chrome strip with run across the grille, connecting the two headlamps. Along the sides, the C3X will feature a unique sedan-coupe crossover design. Its roofline is undoubtedly coupe-like, setting it apart from other sedans in the market. The profile of the crossover will also feature thick body cladding and blacked-out OVRMs.
After the lukewarm reception that the C3 Aircross received, Citroen wants to go all out on the features in its next offering. This means the C3X will launch later than previously thought. It is expected to get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, electrically adjustable OVRMs (missing on the C3 Aircross), and more. Features like wireless charging, automatic climate control, cruise control, ventilated front seats, and keyless entry were missing from the C3 Aircross.
Under the hood, the Citroen C3X will feature the same 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine as the C3 Aircross. This engine produces a maximum power output of 110hp and 190Nm of torque. It is mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. No automatic gearbox options are available for the C3 Aircross, but that could change on the C3X.

Conclusion
An all-electric version of the C3X is also in the works. The petrol C3X is now expected to launch in India by late 2024. Its EV variant may hit the market in 2025. Upon launch, the Citroen C3X will primarily rival the upcoming Tata Curvv crossover along with other sedans like Hyundai Verna, Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, and Honda City.
