Maruti Suzuki has set the launch date for the next-gen Dzire. The compact sedan will be launched in India on November 11. Back in May, Maruti Suzuki launched the 4th-gen Swift hatchback at Rs 6.49 lakh. The Maruti Suzuki Dzire will share some of the design elements with the Switch hatchback but will have its own unique look. Bookings for the sedan will open in the first week of November.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire: What to expect
Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been spotted testing on Indian roads on multiple occasions this year. The spy shots reveal that the sedan will sport a different than its hatchback sibling. The front fascia of the Dzire will boast a wider all-black grille with horizontal slats and some chrome elements. The LED headlamps will be sleeker and the bumper will have a sportier look. Along the sides, the Dzire will flaunt a fresh design for the diamond-cut alloy wheels. At the back, the sedan will feature wraparound LED tail lamps with a similar design language as the headlamps.

Inside, the next-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire will feature a new 9-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment system, a 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster, automatic climatic control, wireless charging, push start/stop, and more. The test modules of the sedan have confirmed the presence of an electric sunroof as well. The dashboard layout and cabin design of the sedan will be similar to the Swift hatchback.

Maruti Suzuki Dzire will share its powertrain with the Swift hatchback. It will be powered by the 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z12E engine which produces a maximum power output of 80hp and 112Nm of torque. This engine can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. It offers a mileage of 25.75kmpl on the Swift.

As mentioned earlier, Maruti Suzuki will start accepting orders for the new Dzire at the start of November. The automaker will begin the first phase of delivery rollout a few days after the launch of the sedan. The CNG version of the sedan will be launched in the following months. Prices for the Dzire are expected to start at Rs 7 lakh. The current-gen Dzire is priced between Rs 6.57 lakh – Rs 9.39 lakh. Meanwhile, prices for the 4th-gen Swift start at Rs 6.49 lakh and go up to Rs 9.50 lakh. Upon launch, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire will rival the likes of Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
