BMW M4 facelift: What’s new?

The new BMW M4 facelift gets small but significant tweaks to its design. The LED headlights have been restyled to give the coupe a modern look. The inside of LED headlights is even more distinctively structured. The low and high beams are produced by the same LED module. Buyers can also choose adaptive LED headlights with anti-glare matrix high beams as optional features. The LED tail lamps feature glass bundle fibre technology previously seen on the limited-edition BMW M4 CSL.

Inside, the BMW M4 facelift gets dual displays for the touchscreen infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. This includes a 14.9-inch display for the infotainment system and a 12.3-inch unit for the instrument cluster. The new ‘8.5’ version of the OS supports enhanced voice controls for the climate functions. The facelifted model also features expansive ambient lighting, which now finds its way above the central air vents as well. With support for 9 different colours, the ambient lighting of the car can change according to your phone notifications or any actions taken with the vehicle.

Under the hood, the BMW M4 facelift is powered by the same 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder engine as the outgoing model. On the facelift, this engine produces a maximum power output of 530hp, which is 20hp more than the outgoing model. The peak power is delivered at 6,250rpm in contrast to 5,600rpm on the outgoing M4. The torque of the two models remains the same at 650Nm.  BMW has discontinued the Rear Wheel Drive configuration on the M4 facelift. However, its acceleration numbers remain unchanged. The new M4 can go from 0-100kmph in 3.5 seconds.

Conclusion

As mentioned earlier, the new BMW M4 facelift will be launched in March 2024. It will go into production in the same month. An India launch is on the cards as well, but the coupe will take a few more months to arrive here. We expect it to launch in India in the third quarter of 2024. Globally, the BMW M4 rivals the Chevrolet Corvette, Audi A5, Lexus LC500, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class AMG C63.
