2023 Kia EV6: All the details

As opposed to 2022, this year there will be no limit to the bookings for Kia Ev6 in India. The automaker will also provide special offers for the first few bookings. Last year, Kia delivered 432 units of the EV6 in India, which was more than four times its initial allotment.

This year, Kia expects more bookings for the EV6. The automaker also plans on expanding its dealer outlets in India this year, growing from 15 outlets in 12 cities last year to 60 outlets in 44 years in 2023. All of Kia’s 60 outlets in India will have 150kW supercharging stations. The first 150kW supercharger was installed in Gurugram last year. Kia also installed a 240kW DC fast charger in Kochi.

Kia EV6 is based on the Hyundai Ioniq 5’s e-GMP (Electric Global Modular Platform) architecture. It is imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). The electric SUV gets premium features like V2L functionality, DC fast charging, a 14-speaker Meridian sound system, ventilated front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and an augmented reality HUD.

Powering the Kia EV6 is a single PMS electric motor that produces a maximum power output of 226hp and 350Nm peak torque. The GT Line AWD variant can produce a maximum power of 320hp and 605Nm peak torque. With a 77.4kWh battery back, the Kia EV6 offers a driving range of 708km.

Conclusion

The 2023 Kia EV6 is available in five colour options – Runway Red, Yacht Blue, Moonscape, Aurora Black Pearl, and Snow White Pearl. As of now, it is Kia’s only electric SUV offering in India, as the automaker does not plan on launching the EV9 anytime soon. The EV6 rivals Hyundai Ioniq 5, BMW i4, and Volvo XC40 Recharge.
