Hyundai has taken the wraps off the new 2023 Hyundai Sonata which is set to make its global debut at the Seoul Mobility Show on March 30. 2023 Hyundai Sonata: What’s new?

Up front, the 2023 Hyundai Sonata gets split LED headlamps and an LED light bar running across the bonnet, similar to the recently launched Verna. The grille now sports angular extensions. Along the sides, the 2023 Sonata still keeps its signature coupe look with a very prominent shoulder line. The rear profile sports an LED light strip that connects the two taillamps, forming an H shape.

Inside, the new 2023 Hyundai Sonata gets a 12.3-inch dual touchscreen infotainment system and digital driver’s display, haptic controls for the HVAC system, an armrest on the centre console and more. The Sonata’s dashboard design is nothing like its predecessor, being more tuned to cater the driver.

While Hyundai has not revealed the powertrain options for the new Sonata, it is expected to retain the same engine as its predecessor. The 2.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 290hp and 422Nm peak torque. This engine is paired with an 8-speed DCT gearbox.

Conclusion

Hyundai will also launch an N Line version of the Sonata alongside the sedan. The Hyundai Sonata N Line will get the same powertrain but will come with a quad exhaust setup, black wing mirrors, exclusive N Line badging, 19-inch alloys, and a boot lid spoiler. Hyundai does not plan on launching the Sonata in India. The automaker discontinued the midsize sedan in India back in 2015.
