2022 Hyundai Venue facelift spied in Korea

After updating its hatchbacks the company is planning to upgrade its SUVs. 2022 Hyundai Venue facelift spied in Korea by Auto Spy shows a new profile. New Creta is also expected to get a facelift next month. First, it was expected that Creta will be the only car to receive a facelift update early, but now with the Venue spotting in a production-ready avatar, we can guess that it will be the next. The car was launched before Creta in 2019 and has been one of the best selling cars in India.

It’s strange to see that company is launching the facelift for Creta before Venue as it came prior to it. The Creta facelift is expected to make a debut next month in GIIAS 2021. Venue on the other hand will take some time and we can expect it in mid-2022. The spy shots were taken from Hyundai’s home country South Korea. The car was parked in the parking lot with mild camouflage.

The new grille can be seen in the photographs and the front will follow the new design language, which we can see on Hyundai’s Tucson and soon to come on Creta as well. The projector lamps and daytime running LED DRLs look identical to the previous gen. In the side profile, we can spot a new set of alloy wheels, but the size remains to be the same as on the existing Venue. Reaching the rear we can also spot a revised bumper and different looking tail lights with altered shapes and patterns.

The interior might also get a new touch screen infotainment system with updated panels. Talking about the engine options we can anticipate that there won’t be any change by the company. The current generation venue comes with 3 engine options. The 1.2 litre, naturally aspirated petrol engine is capable of putting out 83 hp power and 114 Nm torque paired to a 5-speed manual transmission only.

The 1.5 litre, inline 4, diesel engine puts out 100 hp power and 240 Nm torque mated to a 6-speed manual only transmission. The top of the line Venue gets a 1.0 litre turbocharged, in-line 3 petrol engine that churns out 120 hp power and 172 Nm torque. It is offered with a manual gearbox, iMT as well as DCT automatic option.

Other competitors like MG and Mahindra are introducing ADAS technology to its car too and Hyundai Venue can be the first one by the company to do so.
