BYD Sealion 7 announced at Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, bookings open

BYD India has opened the bookings for the Sealion 7 electric SUV. BYD Sealion 7 was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo last week. Buyers can book their model of the eSUV for a token amount of Rs 70,000. Prices for the EV will be announced on February 17. The delivery rollout will commence on March 7. Alongside the Sealion 7, BYD also showcased the Sealion 6 at the event.

BYD Sealion 7: Everything you need to know

As the name suggests, BYD Sealion 7 takes heavy inspiration from the Seal EV. Its front fascia employs the ‘Ocean-X’ design language of the electric sedan. The LED headlamps and tail lamps sport a sleek and piercing look. The front and rear bumpers have a bolder design to match the SUV’s aesthetics. The electric SUV measures 4,830mm in length and has a 2,930mm wheelbase.

Inside, the BYD Sealion 7 rocks a 15.6-inch rotating touchscreen infotainment system, a free-floating digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and heated seating, 12 Dynaudio speakers, 50W wireless charging, ambient lighting with 128 colour options, premium quilted Nappa leather seats, and more.

BYD Sealion 7 is available in 2 variants – Premium (RWD) and Performance (AWD). Both variants are equipped with an 82.56kWh battery pack. The Premium variant produces a maximum power output of 313hp and 380Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 6.7 seconds and has a 567km driving range. Meanwhile, the Performance variant puts out 530hp and 690Nm while going from 0-100kmph in just 4.5 seconds. It offers a driving range of 542km.

Our lineup represents a breakthrough in automotive technology, setting new standards for what consumers can expect from electric vehicles. We are excited to lead the charge in transforming the industry with products that not only inspire but also contribute meaningfully to a greener future. In line with this, we are set to expand our dealership network to 40 within January and grow our network even further through 2025.”

Conclusion

BYD is offering a complimentary 7kW AC charger along with the Sealion 7. The electric SUV comes with a warranty of 7 years/1.50 lakh km. It is available in 4 colour schemes – Atlantis Grey, Cosmos Black, Shark Grey, and Aurora White. We expect its prices to start at Rs 62 lakh. Upon launch, the BYD Sealion 7 will rival the Kia EV6, Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Volvo EX40 in India.
