Hero Xoom launched at Rs 68,599, three variants available

Hero MotoCorp has launched the all-new Hero Xoom at a starting price of Rs 68,599. The 110cc scooter is available in three variants – LX, VX, and ZX. The VX and ZX variants are priced at Rs 71,799 and Rs 76,699 respectively. Hero has announced that these prices are introductory and will be offered only for the first round of bookings. Hero Xoom comes with a few first-in-segment features.

Hero Xoom: Everything you need to know 

Hero Xoom sports an edgy and angular design. Up front, the scooter gets an LED headlamp and X-shaped LED DRLs. It has a ground clearance of 155mm while the seat height lies at 770mm from the ground. The LX and VX of the scooter weigh 108kg while the ZX variant is 1kg heavier.

In terms of features, Hero Xoom is the first in its segment to offer cornering lights. Making use of the gyroscopic sensor and accelerometer, the scooter is able to gauge when it is turning while in motion and moves the headlamp accordingly. The headlamp doesn’t turn when the scooter is still and the handlebars are moved in either direction. This feature only comes with the ZX variant of the scooter.

Hero Xoom gets a digital instrument display but Bluetooth connectivity has only been made available on the ZX variant. The digital display offers incoming and missed call alerts, caller ID, message alerts, and low fuel alerts, among other features. The entry-level LX variant gets a digi-analogue display with an option of a USB charger, glove box, and boot light. These features are offered as standard on other variants.

Powering the Hero Xoom is a 110cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine that can produce a maximum power output of  8.1hp @ 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 8.7Nm @ 5,750rpm. This engine is also found on Hero Pleasure+ and Maestro Edge 110. Hero has also offered its i3s start/stop tech as standard across all variants of the Xoom.

Conclusion 

Hero also mentioned that as of now, Xoom is not compliant with the OBD-2 norms that kick in from April 2023. With the top-spec trim priced at Rs 76,699, Hero Xoom is currently cheaper than its main rivals Honda Activa H-Smart, and TVS Jupiter. Hero will announce a price hike for the Xoom in the coming months.
