Simple Energy’s affordable electric scooter has finally been launched at an introductory price of Rs 1 lakh. This price offer is available to all the customers who pre-booked the scooter last month. The official pricing of the Dot One will be revealed in January 2024. The Dot One has been in the works since June and joins the flagship Simple One in the Bengaluru tech startup’s portfolio of electric scooters.

Simple Dot One: What’s on offer?

The general design and cosmetic layout of the Simple Dot One is the same as the Simple One. The two scooters get similar LED headlamps and body graphics. The Dot One is available in the same six colour options as its elder sibling – Brazen Black, Namma Red, Azure Blue, Grace White, Brazen X, and Light X. The last two are dual-tone paint schemes.

Simple Dot One: What’s on offer?

Simple Dot One is equipped with a 3.7kWh battery pack. This is considerably smaller than the 5.0kWh unit on the flagship scooter. Both scooters come with a 750W charger. The Dot One delivers a driving range of 151km. The electric motor on the scooter can generate a peak power output of 8.5kW (11.3hp) and 72Nm of torque. It can go from 0-40kmph in 2.77 seconds. Both scooters churn out the same power but the ‘One’ has a higher driving range of 212km.

Simple Dot One: What’s on offer?

Talking about the features, the Simple Dot One gets a touchscreen instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity, CBS, disc brakes, tubeless tyres, and app support. The companion app unlocks features like remote access, simple tag, ride statistics, remote alerts, map forwarding, and more. One of the best aspects of the scooter is its under-seat storage capacity of 35 litres.

Conclusion

The tech startup will first begin delivering the Simple Dot One to customers in its home turf, Bengaluru. The delivery process will then commence in other cities in a phased manner. The initial rollout is expected to commence next month. The Dot One rivals Ola and Ather’s affordable scooters in S1 X and 450S.
