Ather Energy’s affordable electric scooter, 450S, has received a price cut of Rs 20,000. The Ather 450S range now starts at Rs 1,09,999, making it one of the most affordable scooters in India. The scooter was launched in August 2023 at the price of Rs 1.30 lakh. The Pro Pack for the electric scooter costs an additional Rs 10,000. This pack adds connectivity and smart features to the 450S.

The Ather 450S is the most affordable scooter in the 450 range. Prices for the 450X start at Rs 1.38 lakh, while the newly launched 450 Apex costs Rs 1.89 lakh. The 450S is equipped with a 2.9kWh battery pack which offers a driving range of 115km in SmartEco mode. Its real-world range is closer to 90km. Using a home charger, this battery pack can be fully juiced in 6 hours and 36 minutes. It also supports fast charging via Ather Grid. A DC fast charger can juice the scooter at a speed of 1.5km/min.
The electric motor on the Ather 450S can generate a maximum power output of 5.4kW and 22Nm of torque. It can go from 0-40kmph in 3.9 seconds with its top speed capped at 90kmph. These figures are similar to the entry-level 450X. The scooter gets a 7-inch Deep View display instead of the TFT unit found on the 450X. Instead of Google Maps integration, the 450S gets turn-by-turn navigation. Other features include Bluetooth connectivity, call alerts, music playback controls, park assist, auto hold, side stand sensors, auto indicator cut-off, guide-me-home light, incognito mode, emergency stop signal, and more.
The newly launched Ather 450 Apex offer a top speed of 100kmph, reaching 0-40kmph in just 2.9 seconds. Styling-wise, the scooter features a see-through design, using frosted transparent body panels to partly reveal the chassis. The flagship electric scooter also debuts a new Indigo Blue colour scheme for the series. Meanwhile, the Ather 450S and 450X feature a common design and setup.

With prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh, the Ather 450S rivals the Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 X, and TVS iQube. Ather is also expanding on working its power grid in India, after opening up its charging network to other EV manufacturers in the country. The tech startup recently joined hands with Vida to offer interoperability between their charging stations. Both companies have over 1900 fast charging stations put together.
