Ather 450 Apex: What to expect?
Ather Energy has not released any promotional material for the 450 Apex so far. The test units provided to the Ather community members were completely disguised under camouflage. The scooter isn’t expected to be a radical departure from the 450 Series in terms of design but will sport some aerodynamic changes that will help with its speed.
Key changes to the Ather 450 Apex come under the hood. It retains the 3.7kWh battery pack as the Ather 450X but gets a much more powerful electric motor powering it. The electric motor on the 450X generates a maximum power output of 6.4kW and 26Nm of torque. The Ather 450 Apex will easily surpass these numbers. The top speed of the electric scooter is expected to be above 100kmph. It will also have better acceleration than the 450X.
Back in June, Ather launched its first affordable electric scooter, 450S. This scooter is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh and rivals Ola’s budget offering, S1 Air. The 450S is equipped with a 3kWh battery pack that offers a driving range of 115km. In comparison, the flagship 450X has a driving range of 146km. When it comes to the top speed, both scooters are evenly matched. The 450S can go from 0-40kmph in 3.9 seconds, while it takes the 450X 3.3 seconds to accomplish the same feat.

Ather could price the 450 Apex anywhere between Rs 1.90 – 2 lakh. The company has also been working on expanding its charging station network called ‘Ather Grid’ throughout the country.
