Bajaj Chetak is the most recent electric scooter to get festive discounts this year. These discounts are valid in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka only. Buyers can avail discount offers of up to Rs 15,000 on the Chetak, bringing the price down to Rs 1.15 lakh. These discounts are valid till stock lasts. Other states do not receive any festive discounts for the Chetak.

Bajaj Chetak: Now priced at Rs 1.15 lakh
Bajaj Chetak is available in a single 2.9kWh battery variant. This battery has a claimed range of 108km. It can be fully charged in under 5 hours with a quick charge of 25% in 60 minutes. The electric motor powering the scooter can deliver a maximum power output of 4.2kW and a continuous output of 3.8kW. It can also put out 16Nm of maximum torque. There are two ride modes on offer – Eco and Sport.
In terms of styling, the Bajaj Chetak features a modern spin on the traditional design of its ICE namesake. The round LED headlamp gets integrated horseshoe-shaped DRLs. The electric scooter also gets sequential LED blinkers. The body panels feature a streamlined design in order to maximise the scooter’s efficiency.
The electric scooter gets features like Bluetooth connectivity, tamper alert, feather touch-activated electronic switches, a digital console, an Intelligent Battery Management System, and more. The myChetak app notifies riders of unauthorised access or an accident.
Bajaj is also working on a low-cost entry-level scooter to compete with the likes of Ola and Ather. It is rumoured that this scooter will be released as the ‘Sunny’, which was Bajaj’s best-selling affordable scooter in the ‘90s. The battery and engine specs for this entry-level scooter are still unknown. Several reports suggest that Bajaj could launch this scooter next year.

Bajaj Chetak is available in four colour options – Indigo Metallic, Velutto Rosso, Brooklyn Black, and Hazelnut. The company also offers a battery warranty of 3 years or 50,000 km (whichever comes sooner). In India, Bajaj Chetak rivals the likes of Hero Vida V1, Ola S1 X, Simple One, and TVS iQube.
