KTM has taken the wraps off its new track motorbike, the KTM RC 8C. KTM will only manufacture 200 units of this special edition motorbike. The RC 8C was first launched in 2021, and the 100 available units were booked in five minutes. The model number of each unit will be displayed on the handlebar. The 2023 edition of the KTM RC 8C receives a range of updates, both mechanical and cosmetic.

2023 KTM RC 8C: What’s on offer
When it comes to mechanical upgrades, KTM has tweaked the engine a bit, which now offers 7hp more power. Larger throttle bodies, titanium intake, exhaust valves, and a new Akrapovic exhaust are some of the mechanical changes on the bike. The 889cc parallel twin engine now produces a maximum power of 135hp and 98Nm peak torque. The new PANKL oil cooler gives the motorbike better thermal stability as well.
When it comes to suspension, the AP Apex Pro has been updated to provide a smoother ride on the race track. The KTM RC 8C weighs 142kg. There are very limited cosmetic changes on the motorbike. It receives a new satin black paint scheme instead of the orange coat found in the previous version.
Instrumentation changes include a revamped GPS data logger and KTM RC 16-derived handlebar switches. Riders will now also be able to customise traction control, mapping, and engine braking. The race Quickshifter+ has also been added to the new RC 8C.

Conclusion
There aren’t any other significant changes on the RC 8C. The motorbike still rests on the Chromoly steel-trellis frame sourced from Kramer. Brembo Stylema callipers handle the braking duties. As mentioned earlier, KTM will only produce 200 units of the RC 8C. The first 30 customers will also get the opportunity to ride their RC 8C at the Valencia track day in 2023. The motorbike has been priced at £ 34,999 (~Rs 33 lakh). An Indian release is extremely unlikely, given that the previous version of the motorbike didn’t get an Indian launch either.
