Yamaha Aerox 155 teaser is out by the company

After the success of Yamaha Ray ZR and Fascino 125 Fi in the Indian market, Aerox 155 teaser is out by the company. Yamaha first showcased this scooter in India in 2018. The company decided not to launch the scooter in India at that time. But due to the high demand for maxi-scooters, the company has brought this offering to the country as well. Here is everything we know about Yamaha Aerox 155.

Design

According to the 2021 Aerox being sold in the international market, we can expect the same twin LED headlight holding the daytime Running LED DRLs and updated LED tail lamps. The design is inspired by a lot of maxi-scooters sold by Yamaha in International markets. In terms of dimensions, the new Aerox 155 will measure 1,980 mm in length, 700 mm in width, and 1,150 mm in height with a wheelbase on offer is 1,350mm.

Engine

The Maxi-styled scooter will be powered by the same 155 cc single-cylinder engine, which is used in R15 and MT15 as well. Though due to emission norms in India the company will retune the engine to make it BS6 eligible. The detuned version is expected to produce 14.9 Ps of power that is 4 Ps less than the twins. The torque fingers are unknown but since the international variant puts 13.9 Nm of torque we can expect more or less the same from the Indian version as well.

Features

The new Aerox is equipped with a digital instrument console that is equipped with the Yamaha Y-connect smartphone application. This allows the raider to pair the smartphone with the scooter in order to receive information on parking location, error codes and service schedules. 

The company will also include features like hazard lights, keyless entry, engine start/stop, and a 25-litre storage capacity under the seat which can be accessed by a remote locking button. For Suspension Yamaha has used telescopic forks in front and twin remote reservoir shock absorbers at the rear. For safety, the company will equip the scooter with single-channel ABS on the front disk and a traditional drum at the rear.

It will be exciting to see if the company releases its new maxi styled scooter along with its new R15 and R15M tomorrow. The scooter is expected to be priced between 1.3 – 1.4 Lakhs ex-showroom in India.
