TVS Motor launches ‘Built To Order’ platform along with its 2022 Apache 310

TVS announced its Built To Order platform on Monday, 30th August 2021 along with updates on its flagship TVS Apache RR 310. The new 2022 version of Apache is Rs 5,000 dearer than the current selling model. With Built to Order (BTO) introduction, the company offered its 39 years of racing heritage to the customers. Here is everything about BTO and how it works.

What is BTO

TVS announced its ‘Built To Order’ augmented reality-based application (available on iOS and Android) from where a consumer can design their own vehicle. The first vehicle to address this segment is the company’s flagship Apache RR 310. There are a lot of options to choose from like Preset kits, graphics options, rim colour options and personalise number options. The company’s marketing head addressed that with their first factory customised-personalised platform, they can take care of each person’s unique riding style and expression.

The company also availed a ‘Race Replica’ styled graphic option by TVS racing, which can all be customised by downloading TVS ARIVE (Augmented Reality Vehicle Experience) application from either Google Play Store or Apple App Store. One can also visit TVS’s website to customise the bike to their taste.

Over that, TVS introduced updates for Apache RR 310 as well. This will include a sportier exhaust note with an improved lean angle. TVS announced a unique wave type key to improve the security of the bike. There will be 2 kits on offer as well. One being the Dynamic kit that will offer fully adjustable front forks and rear suspension. Another kit on offer is a race kit that is completely track-oriented with Tuck down handlebars, raised footpegs and knurled grip.

For Dynamic Kit updates, customers have to pay Rs 12,000 and Rs 1,500 over the ex-showroom price of the bike. For race replica graphics Rs 4,500 and Rs 1,500 for red alloys is charged by the company. Also, the company got you covered if you are an existing TVS Apache RR310 owner. One can avail some features like race handlebars, race footrest, race footpeg and new upgrades over the current instrument cluster via software updates direct from the nearest TVS dealership.

It’s a big step by TVS to launch factory customisation for the Indian customers as it will really excite race enthusiasts and also promote racing as a sport in the country, which will bring out some hidden talents. For now, the production for these customised bikes are very limited but as the company increases its production the bikes will be available quite fast.
