New Vitara Brezza spotted yet again in Gurgaon

The 5th generation Suzuki Vitara was found on a transport truck near the Maruti Suzuki production facility in Gurgaon. The first generation was released back in 2015 and was a hit in many international markets as well. The car got a facelift in 2018 when the company announced its 30th anniversary.

Talking about the car which was spotted. It has distinctive design elements such as a vertical grille with chrome slats and a large Suzuki logo in the centre of the grille. It features sharp headlamps with LED DRL and LED tail lamps in the rear as well. It can be an Indian ready model or an imported unit to test the car in Indian conditions.

Vitara Brezza that is sold globally is powered by a 1.4-litre booster jet 4-cylinder K14D turbocharged petrol engine with mild-hybrid technology. The engine can produce a power of 127.18 bhp at 5,500rpm and a peak torque of 235 Nm at 2,000-3,000rpm. The company avails the car in two transmissions the first being a 6-speed manual and the second being a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

The 4 cylinder engine is boosted with SHVS mild hybrid system. Suzuki’s SHVS technology includes a 48V battery pack with 8Ah of capacity and a 13.6PS electric motor. This motor will help in the initial launch of the car and will improve its fuel economy.

The new generation looks a little taller, wider and longer as compared to the current generation’s 4,175 mm length, 1,775 mm width and 1,610 mm height. Though the wheelbase remains the same i.e. 2,500mm. The interior of the car is unknown but we can expect a fully digital touchscreen infotainment system with the support of Android Auto and Apple Carplay, wireless charger, ambient lighting, electronic parking brake and sunroof for higher trims.

The expected release date of the car is under wraps by the company but we can expect the car to release in mid-2022. It’s good to see that even Maruti Suzuki is trying to enter the era of electrification with the collaboration of Toyota. It is also reported that the car is based on Toyota’s DNGA platform, it will be exciting to see what this new collaboration has to offer to its customers.

The new SUV was under development by a joint venture of Maruti Suzuki and Toyota, which is expected to be produced at Toyota’s Bidadi based plant. Toyota discontinued the Yaris sedan for the Indian market and this new car is likely to replace its production line.
