Pick-ups are like all in one vehicle that can do everything from towing to offroading. Along with this, they have surprisingly big interiors and powerful engines. These trucks can do major labour and can be driven as a daily driver as well.
We are not very happy that there is not a big market in India for pick-up trucks that relatively have high sales in the international market. Nevertheless, companies should consider launching some pickup trucks for car enthusiasts as well. Here are 5 pick-ups that we would want to see on Indian roads.
Ram 1500 is a full-size pickup truck that is powered by a 5.7L Hemi V8. With this humongous engine, the truck can pull 12,750 lbs (5,783.3 kg) once equipped properly. Talking about the interiors, the truck is covered with wood and leather to give owners a posh feel.
The truck is equipped with a smart blind-spot monitoring system that adapts automatically by learning the length of your trailer. Ram 1500 also has some great features such as a 12-inch touchscreen with Uconnect, heated leather and genuine wood steering wheel, Qi wireless charging and eight-way power front seats and reclining rear seats.
Ford recently updated the F-150 with a fresh interior and updated engine that produces more power and torque. The truck is powered by a 2.7L engine and is a great all-around option for giving a balance of power and mileage. The same produces 325 hp and 542.3 Nm of torque.
The rear bed can hold 2,470 lbs (1,120.3 kg) of weight or the truck can pull a trailer weighing 8,500 lbs (3,855.5 kg). The updated model has Bang & Olufsen premium audio system, a new dual exhaust, and new colours. Tacoma is powered by a 3.5L V6 engine producing 278 hp and 259.2 Nm of torque. The only truck on this list to offer a 6-speed manual transmission for people who want more control.
There are two-bed options for the truck. The first being a 5-foot variant and the other is a slightly bigger 6-foot one. Tacoma also features machined face wheels, LED headlights and taillights, a big infotainment system with the support of Android Auto and Apple Carplay. Most importantly there is also a cargo bed light for ease to see at night time.
