Vinfast VF6 and VF7 receive 5-star safety ratings from BNCAP

Bharat NCAP has awarded 5-star safety ratings to the Vinfast VF6 and VF7. The two electric SUVs were launched in India back in September 2025. They were crash tested by Bharat NCAP in November 2025. The 5-star safety rating applies to all variants of the two models. Both cars are locally assembled at Vinfast’s manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, India.

Vinfast VF6 and VF7: Crash test results explained

The Vinfast VF6 scored 27.13 points out of a possible 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection test, while the VF7 garnered 28.54 points. Upon frontal collision, the two SUVs showed good protection to the driver’s and passenger’s heads, necks, pelves, and thighs. The passenger’s chest and tibia showed adequate protection in both vehicles. However, the VF6 offered adequate protection to the driver’s right tibia and weak protection to their chest. Good protection was shown by both vehicles in the Side Movable Deformable Barrier and Side Pole Impact tests.

In the Child Occupant Protection test, the VF6 scored higher, garnering 44.41 points out of a possible 49. Meanwhile, the Vinfast VF7 scored 45.25 points. The child seats for 18-month-old and 3-year-old dummies were installed in a rearward position using ISOFIX anchorages. The VF6 managed a Dynamic score of 22.41 points, while the VF7 secured 23.25 points after the crash.

The two SUVs come with 7 airbags, Electronic Stability Control, ABS with EBD, Traction Control System, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Hill Start Assist, Brake Assist, disc brakes on all wheels, and a 360-degree Surround View Monitor as standard features. Depending on the variant, they also pack smart ADAS features like Auto Lane Changing Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Emergency Lane Keeping Assist, Front and Rear Automatic Emergency Brake, and Blind Spot Detection.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Vinfast VF6 start at Rs 16.49 lakh and go up to Rs 18.29 lakh. It rivals the Hyundai Creta Electric, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella, Mahindra XUV 3XO EV, and Tata Nexon EV in India. Meanwhile, the VF7 is priced between Rs 20.89 lakh and Rs 25.49 lakh. It rivals the Mahindra XEV 9e and Tata Harrier EV
