Tata Motors has equipped the Nexon EV with a Level 2 Advanced Driving Assistance System (ADAS) package. Only the top-spec Empowered+ A variant of the Tata Nexon EV will get this feature. It is priced at Rs 17.29 lakh, demanding a premium of Rs 30,000 over the regular Empowered+ variant. Bookings for the ADAS model are now open.

Tata Nexon EV: What’s new?

The Level 2 ADAS package on the Nexon EV consists of features like Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Collision Warning, Cross-traffic Warning, Autonomous Emergency Braking, Automatic High Beam Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Driver Drowsiness Alert.

Tata Nexon EV: Which ADAS features to expect?

The Nexon EV is one of the safest electric SUVs in the market, having received a 5-star safety rating from the Bharat NCAP in June 2024. Its safety features include 6 airbags, ESP with iVBAC, auto hold, disc brakes on all four wheels, Hill Assist, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 36-degree camera, a front parking sensor, a blind spot view monitor, and more.

Tata Nexon EV: Which ADAS features to expect?

Since it is based on the top-spec variant, the ADAS model of the Nexon EV packs all the creature comforts. The 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system on the dashboard supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. There’s a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster onboard as well. Other features include connected car tech, wireless charging, ventilated front seats, voice-assisted sunroof, touch controls for the HVAC, and more.

Tata Nexon EV: Which ADAS features to expect?

The electric SUV comes in 2 battery pack options – 30kWh and 45kWh. The 40.5kWh battery pack was discontinued earlier this year. The two remaining battery packs offer a driving range of 375km and 489km, respectively. The 30kWh ‘MR’ variants generate a maximum power output of 129hp and 215Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 45kWh ‘LR’ variants put out 145hp and 215Nm.

Final Thoughts

The ADAS variant of the Nexon EV is available in Dark and Dark Red avatars as well. These models demand a premium of Rs 20,000 over the Empowered+ A trim. The regular lineup starts at Rs 12.49 lakh. The top-spec non-ADAS variant (Empowered+) fetches Rs 16.99 lakh. The compact electric SUV rivals the Mahindra XUV400, MG Windsor EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and Maruti Suzuki e Vitara in India.
