2021 Suzuki Ertiga Sport Edition debuts in the international market

Ertiga is one of the most selling MPVs in India. Now the company confirmed that it will release the 2021 Suzuki Ertiga Sport Edition in the Asian market. The limited-edition car will be showcased in the upcoming Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). The GIIAS has been scheduled for November 11, 2021. For the sports addition, the car gets cosmetic updates that make the car look sportier and some functionality enhancements as well. Though there won’t be any engine update that can be seen in the sports edition.

The Ertiga limited edition is also based on ‘Suzuki Sport’ design. The sports badging can be seen in multiple places on the rear of the car like the rear bumper, spoiler and bumper. The primary idea of the cosmetic change revolves around achieving a blacked outlook to make it look sportier. This blacked-out theme can be seen in the a to C pillar, roof air dam and front grille. The same theme can be seen on side handles and ORVMs.

The alloy of the car gets a new dual-tone silver and black theme. The front of the Ertiga sports edition has an extended spoiler with a piano black finish. Contrasting to that is red accents all over the body of the car which include side skirts decal and bumper finish. We can also see orange coloured mirrors which can also be bought with black mirrors.

The interior gets a revamp as well with all blacked out dashboard and leather seats with contrast red stitching. Apart from the normal variant the car also gets E mirror functionality with an integrated dashcam. Further interior updates are not known yet but they will be soon disclosed by the company in GIIAS. As most of the car brands do not release their exotic sports variant in India this sports edition of Ertiga is not expected to enter the shores. The car is marketed for countries like Indonesia, Vietnam, Thailand, etc.

There won’t be any engine updates on the car, powering the 2021 Suzuki Ertiga Sport Edition will be the same 1.5-litre smart hybrid petrol motor that produces 103 hp of max power at 6,000 rpm and the torque figures of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm. The engine is paired with either a 5-speed manual or 4 speed automatic. In India, the car is also available in a cleaner fuel CNG variant, but the sports edition won’t be available in that.

Safety features like dual airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill hold control, engine immobilizer, ESP(electronic stability program), high-speed alert, security alarm, rear parking sensor and camera remain constant.
