Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has hiked the prices for its sub-4m compact SUV. All variants of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor are now dearer by 2,500. The Taisor lineup now starts at Rs 7.77 lakh. Its top-spec model fetches Rs 13.07 lakh. Before the price hike, the Taisor range started at Rs 7.74 lakh and went up to Rs 13.04 lakh.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor shares its powertrain with its Maruti cousin, Fronx. The 1.2-litre K Series naturally aspirated petrol engine produces a maximum power output of 90hp and 113Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or AMT gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine is also available on the Taisor and produces a maximum power output of 100hp and 148Nm of torque. It can be paired with a 5-speed manual or automatic gearbox. The 1.2-litre K series engine is also available in a CNG configuration.
The dual-tone cabin of the Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor is decked with premium features. The SUV boasts a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with support for wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The flat-bottom steering wheel is wrapped in leather and integrated with control buttons. Other features include automatic climate control with rear AC vents, keyless entry, paddle shifters, wireless charging, push start/stop, electrically adjustable OVRMs, a heads-up display, and more.

Earlier this week, Toyota added a new Premium Package to its midsize SUV, Urban Cruiser HyRyder. This package contains cosmetic accessories like a door visor, hood emblem, rear door garnish, body cladding, and other exterior elements. No changes have been made to the interior of the SUV. It remains to be seen whether a similar will be added to Taisor’s lineup too. The compact SUV rivals Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Tata Punch, Citroen C3, Hyundai Exter, Nissan Magnite, and Renault Kiger in India.
