Tata Aeris launched at a starting price of Rs 5.29 lakh

Tata Motors has added a new compact sedan to its portfolio. Prices for the new Tata Aeris start at Rs 5.29 lakh and go up to Rs 9.74 lakh. The CNG range starts at Rs 6.29 lakh. The sedan comes in 5 trim levels – Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative, and Accomplished. The automaker has started accepting bookings. The delivery rollout will commence on October 11.

Tata Aeris: Everything you need to know

Here are the prices for the new Aeris sedan.

The Aeris stands at dimensions of 3,995mm x 1,684mm x 1,532mm and has a 2,450mm wheelbase. The styling elements along its front fascia resemble the Tiago hatchback. The gloss black grille is flanked on either side by sleek LED headlamps. These headlamps are integrated with eyebrow DRLs. The bumper houses a wide air intake unit with black elements.

The top-spec petrol variants of the sedan rock 15-inch diamond-cut aero alloy wheels. The wheel arches have black cladding, and the door handles are finished in chrome. At the back, the LED tail lamps are connected by a red trim which is partly illuminated. The Tata logo is placed in the middle of this bar. The stop lamp is mounted on the roof spoiler. There’s ‘AERIS’ lettering on the tailgate. The light reflectors are vertically aligned on the bumper.

Inside, the Tata Aeris gets a beige-and-grey colour theme. The dashboard houses a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch digital instrument cluster. The infotainment display supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a rear centre armrest with cupholders, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, a cooled glove box, a dashcam, rear AC vents, a 6-speaker audio system, a dual smartphone deck with wireless charging, connected car tech, and more. The boot space has a 419-litre capacity.

On the safety front, the Aeris packs 6 airbags, a 360-degree camera, ISOFIX anchorages, TPMS, a blind-spot monitor, hill hold control, ESP with traction control, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, a reverse parking camera, and more.

Powering the sedan is a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine. It generates a maximum power output of 86hp and 113Nm of torque. It can be mated to a 5-speed manual or automated manual gearbox. In a CNG guise, this engine churns out 76hp and 97Nm. This powertrain also comes in manual and AMT options. The CNG model gets added safety features like leak detection, thermal incident protection, and a fire extinguisher. The two fuel cylinders are placed beneath the boot floor.

Final Thoughts

As mentioned earlier, Tata Motors will begin delivering the Aeris from October 11. Buyers can choose from 6 paint shades – Dandeli Drizzle, Dune Glow, Nitro Crimson, Pure Grey, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White. The dual-tone colour scheme is only available on the top-spec Accomplished trim. The Aeris rivals the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze in India.
