Second Skoda Octavia RS shipment expected to arrive in early 2026

The Skoda Octavia RS was launched in India last month at Rs 49.99 lakh. The sedan is imported to India as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU). At the time of launch, Skoda imported 100 units of the sedan to India. These units sold out within a day, even before the price reveal. This staggering response has prompted Skoda to import another batch of the car. This shipment will reach India in early 2026. The automaker will begin accepting bookings in the coming months.

Skoda Octavia RS: The flagship sedan makes a grand comeback

Skoda opened the booking window for the Octavia RS on October 6. The window was closed within a day, when the automaker garnered almost 350 bookings. Out of these orders, only 100 were fulfilled. The automaker will fulfil the remaining orders with the next shipment, before taking new reservations.

The Octavia RS features a new radiator grille with the RS badge. This grille is flanked on either side by 2nd-gen Matrix LED headlamps and DRLs. The front and rear bumpers have been restyled as well. The grille frame, side-window trim, wing mirror covers, roof rails, rear-bumper diffuser, and exhaust tailpipes sport a black finish. The sedan comes in Magic Black, Candy White, Race Blue, Velvet Red, and an exclusive ‘Mamba Green’ paint shade.

Inside, the Octavia RS packs a a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, and a head-up display. The infotainment system runs the automaker’s in-house ChatGPT-powered ‘Laura’ AI assistant. The sedan is decked with other premium features like an 11-speaker Canton sound system, three-zone automatic climate control, powered front seats with heating and massage functions, and a ‘Phone Box’ with 15W wireless and 45W wired charging and integrated cooling.

Powering the Skoda Octavia RS is a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 265hp and 370Nm of torque. It is mated to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. The 4×4 configuration channels the power to all four wheels. It takes the sedan just 6.4 seconds to go from 0-100km/h. Its top speed is capped at 250km/h.

In international markets, the Octavia comes in 2 other engine options. The 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine generates a maximum power output of 114hp. This engine can be paired with a 6-speed manual or 7-speed DSG automatic transmission. The 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 113hp, but it can also be had in a 147hp version with a DSG automatic gearbox.

Final Thoughts

When bookings for the next shipment are reopened, the token amount will likely be set at Rs 2.50 lakh. The Octavia RS does not have any true rivals in the current market, but it faces competition from the Audi A4, Toyota Camry, and BMW 2 Series.
