Buyers face a waiting period of 10 weeks for Tata Harrier EV

Tata Harrier EV buyers are facing waiting periods of up to 10 weeks for the electric SUV. Tata’s flagship electric SUV was launched back in July. At the time of launch, it demanded a waiting period of up to 30 weeks. The EV comes in 3 trim levels – Adventure, Fearless+, and Empowered. The higher spec variants are the most in demand.

Tata Harrier EV: Tata’s flagship electric SUV finds instant success

The mid-spec Fearless+ and top-spec Empowered trims of the Tata Harrier EV are in the highest demand. Buyers have to face a waiting period of 8-10 weeks for the 65kWh and 75kWh variants. The ‘Stealth Edition’ of the EV demands the same waiting period.

Tata Harrier EV comes in 2 battery pack sizes – 65kWh and 75kWh. The 75kWh battery pack offers 622km MIDC-certified range. Tata’s in-house C75 drive cycle test places its range between 480-505km. Meanwhile, the 65kWh has an ARAI-certified range of 538km and C75-tested range between 420-445km.

A 120kW DC fast charger can take the 75kWh battery pack from a 20% to 80% charge level in just 25 minutes. Meanwhile, it takes 29 hours for a 15A plug point to fully charge the battery pack. The RWD variants of the Tata Harrier EV are powered by a single, rear-axle-mounted electric motor. This motor generates a maximum power output of 238hp and 315Nm of torque. The AWD variants put out 390hp and 594Nm.

In terms of features, the Harrier EV is packed with a 10-speaker JBL audio system, digital key, smart card, remote key, built-in navigation, memory seating, rear headrests, centre armrest with cupholders, a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof, a dual-zone climate control, cooled storage, an air purifier, ambient lighting, 65W wireless charging, and more. Its 14.53-inch touchscreen infotainment system uses the world’s first Samsung Neo QLED automotive display. The electric SUV has a dual-tone dashboard and a four-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo.

On the safety front, the electric SUV gets 7 airbags, ESP with i-VBAC, Acoustic Vehicle Alert System, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Assist, TPMS, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps, a 360-degree camera, and an e-IVRM with a digital video recorder. There is a Level 2 ADAS package on board as well. It was crash tested by Bharat NCAP in June 2025 and received a 5-star safety rating.

Final Thoughts

Prices for the Tata Harrier EV start at Rs 21.49 lakh and go up to Rs 30.23 lakh. It is one of the most versatile and premium EVs in the Indian market right now, rivalling the likes of Mahindra XEV 9e, Mahindra BE 6, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Hyundai Creta Electric.
