Maruti Suzuki to hike prices by up to Rs 30,000 next month

Maruti Suzuki has announced fresh price hikes across its catalogue. The new prices will come into effect on June 1. Depending on the model, the price hikes will go up to Rs 30,000. The automaker has cited rising input costs and inflationary pressures as the reasons behind the price increase.

Maruti Suzuki: Fresh hikes incoming

Maruti has been mulling over the decision to increase the prices of its cars since the beginning of the year. Initially, the automaker had planned a price hike in January 2026, but chose to absorb the rising costs instead. In April, it acknowledged the need to pass the costs to the customers.

The exact price hikes for different models remain unknown so far. The price lists will be updated in June. It remains to be seen whether the starting price of mass market Maruti Suzuki offerings will go up as well. The top-spec variants of premium offerings like the Grand Vitara, Invicto, and Victoris will be affected the most. The automaker has specified that the cost increase won’t surpass Rs 30,000.

Maruti Suzuki’s Arena lineup comprises 10 offerings – S Presso, Alto, Celerio, Wagon R, Eeco, Swift, Dzire, Brezza, Ertiga, and Victoris. The Victoris SUV is the most premium Arena offering, and the most recent addition to the lineup. It was launched in September 2025 at a starting price of Rs 10.25 lakh. In February 2026, the MY2025 units of the SUV were available with discounts worth up to Rs 2 lakh. The strong-hybrid variants received the maximum discount package, valued at Rs 2 lakh. The petrol and CNG models got Rs 1.25 lakh and Rs 80,000 off, respectively.

Maruti Suzuki Victoris

The strong-hybrid powertrain of the Victoris is sourced from Toyota. This 1.5-litre TNGA petrol engine with a strong hybrid system generates a maximum power output of 115hp and 137Nm torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with mild hybrid technology puts out 103hp and 137Nm. The CNG engine produces 89hp. The mild hybrid variants have a fuel economy of 21.18km/l and 21.06km/l with manual and automatic transmissions, respectively. With AWD onboard, this number drops to 19.07km/l. The strong hybrid variants offer a mileage of 28.65km/l. Lastly, the CNG variants have a mileage of 27.02km/kg.

The Nexa lineup comprises Maruti Suzuki’s 8 premium offerings. These include the Grand Vitara, e Vitara, Jimny, XL6, Invicto, Fronx, Baleno, and Ignis.

Final Thoughts

Maruti isn’t the only automaker hiking prices this year. MG Motor and Tata Motors raised prices across their catalogues last month. This month, Hyundai also decided to pass the rising costs to its customers.
