Maruti Suzuki e Vitara is set to launch in India in the coming weeks. Ahead of the launch, the automaker has been testing its debut EV in Himachal Pradesh. The e Vitara made its official debut in Milan last year. It was publicly showcased in India for the first time at the Bharat Global Mobility Expo in January 2025. The test mule that was spotted testing in Himachal Pradesh was draped in camouflage.

The production-spec model of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara stands at dimensions of 4,272mm x 1,800mm x 1,640mm and has a 2,700mm wheelbase. The front fascia of the electric SUV rocks tri-state LED headlamps, edgy DRLs, and a shut-off grille. The nose of the e Vitara is very upright. The charging port is positioned on the rear fender and the rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillar. Maruti has extended the tri-slash design language to the LED tail lamps.
Inside, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara gets a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster. The touchscreen infotainment system supports Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The steering wheel has a two-spoke design. Other features include a 10-way power adjustable driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, rear seat armrest with cup holder, connected car tech, a fixed-glass sunroof, and more. Safety features include 7 airbags, an Electronic Parking Brake, All-Disc Brakes, e-Call functionality, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, and more. There is a Level 2 ADAS package onboard for added safety.
The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be available with 2 battery sizes – 49kWh and 61kWh. These battery packs have a functional temperate range of -30°C – 60°C. The front-mounted single electric motor produces a maximum power output of 143hp on the 49kWh variants and 173hp on the larger battery variants. The 61kWh battery pack has a 500km range.

Following an Indian launch, the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara will be launched in Europe and Japan. The electric SUV will also spawn a Toyota sibling in the Urban Cruiser EV. We expect the e Vitara to fetch Rs 18 lakh. Upon launch, it will rival the Hyundai Creta Electric, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, Tata Nexon EV, and MG Windsor EV.
