Maruti Suzuki Brezza gets six airbags as standard, prices hiked

Maruti Suzuki has equipped the Brezza with 6 airbags across all variants. As a result, prices for the Maruti Suzuki Brezza have gone up by Rs 15,000. The automaker made the same changes to the Celerio recently. Prices for the Brezza now start at Rs 8.69 lakh for the entry-level LXI variant and go up to Rs 13.98 lakh for the top-spec ZXI+ AT variant.

As you can see, the entry-level LXI trim gets the biggest price hike of Rs 15,000. The VXI trim is dearer by Rs 5,000 while the ZXI trim now demands a premium of Rs 11,000. Prices for the top-spec ZXI+ trim remain unchanged as it was already equipped with 6 airbags.

Previously, the lower trims of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza came with dual airbags. They are now supplemented by side and curtain airbags. Other features on the compact SUV include a free-standing 9-inch Smartplay Pro+ touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support, an Arkamys-tuned sound system, wireless charging, HUD, electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, ambient lighting as well as voice-command operation.

Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Brezza rocks the 1.5-litre K15C DualJet engine. This engine produces a maximum power output of 101hp and 136Nm of torque. It can be mated to a manual or automatic transmission. In a CNG configuration, the SUV produces a power output of 88hp and 121.5Nm of torque. It offers a mileage of 25.51km/kg. The CNG variants are available with a manual transmission only.

Conclusion

The dual-tone variants of the Maruti Suzuki Brezza demand a premium of Rs 16,000. In other news, prices of the Baleno hatchback have gone up by Rs 9,000. The Brezza rivals the likes of Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, and Tata Nexon.
