Honda Car India has taken the wraps off its new flagship SUV in the country. The Honda ZR-V Hybrid will sit at the top of the automaker’s car hierarchy. It will be imported to India as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Honda has not revealed the prices for the SUV yet, but it has started accepting pre-orders. The Honda ZR-V stands at dimensions of 4,567mm x 1,840mm x 1,621mm and has a 2,655mm wheelbase. Its front fascia features a compact black grille with vertical slats. Flanking this grille on either side are sleek LED headlamps with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper has a large mesh-patterned air dam in the middle and air vents on both sides.
The SUV rests on 18-inch alloy wheels along the sides. The circular wheel arches and sloping roofline are consistent with the design language of other sections. The OVRMs have a dual-tone finish, while the door handles have the same colour as the body. At the back, the SUV gets a raked windshield. The tips of the two exhaust pipes are finished in chrome. The spoiler is mounted on the roof.
Inside, the Honda ZR-V Hybrid gets a free-standing 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Accompanying this display is a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. The soft-padded dashboard and genuine leather seating elevate the feel of the SUV. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seating, an 8-way powered driver seat, a 4-way powered passenger seat, dual-zone climate control, rear AC vents, a 12-speaker Bose sound system, ambient lighting, and wireless charging.
On the safety front, the ZR-V packs 8 airbags, a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), an Electronic Parking Brake (EPB) and more features. The Level 2 ‘Honda Sensing’ ADAS suite comprises functions like Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, Collision Mitigating Braking, Traffic Jam Assist, and more.
Under the hood, the Honda ZR-V rocks a 2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a dual-motor strong-hybrid system. It generates a maximum power output of 184hp and 315Nm. Transmission options are limited to an e-CVT gearbox. The SUV can go from 0-100km/h in 8 seconds. Its top speed has been capped at 172km/h. The fuel economy specs come out at 22.79km/l. The India-spec model is only available with a Front Wheel Drive (FWD) setup. The international-spec AWD model uses a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine, and puts out 180hp and 240Nm.
